Teaching can be easy and fun

Why shouldn't you have fun while you teach your kids the abcs, how to count or what animal says moo. I think that kids learn best when they are having fun. I am setting out to teach my one and a half year old. I want to teach him how to be a good friend, how to show love, all the animals that live on a farm and so much more. I am writing this blog not even knowing if anyone will read it but hoping someone will find inspiration to have fun while teaching their toddler.

Key day
Lesson- What does a key do? Count your keys.
Game- Un lock the lock. Let your kids unlock locks.
It would be fun to put a label on each key.
Craft- Painted keys (you can find old ones or let them
paint your keys. Put painters tape on the bottom of
the key so you can still use it. Let them paint the top.
Activity- Get a key copied. Go get a key copied and see
how keys are made.
Books- Joey Pigza swallowed a key.

Kangaroo day
Lesson- What is a Kangaroo? Where does a Kangaroo live?
Kangaroos have big feet and a big tale so they can jump really
far. They have a Kangaroo pouch to hold their babies.
Game- Jump like a kangaroo. After making the craft (or not)
go out side and jump like a kangaroo. Count your jumps.
Craft- Be a kangaroo. With paper or material cut out a kangaroo
tale and safety pin it to your child's pants. Then take card board
or card stock and make them big feet. Just tape them on the
bottom of their shoe.
Activity- Zoo

Kite
Lesson- What is a kite? What else flies?
Game- Kite hide n seek. Take turns hiding and finding the kite.
Activity- Lets go fly a kite.
Books- Kite flying, Bear and Kite, Curious George and the Kite.
