Teaching can be easy and fun

Why shouldn't you have fun while you teach your kids the abcs, how to count or what animal says moo. I think that kids learn best when they are having fun. I am setting out to teach my one and a half year old. I want to teach him how to be a good friend, how to show love, all the animals that live on a farm and so much more. I am writing this blog not even knowing if anyone will read it but hoping someone will find inspiration to have fun while teaching their toddler.

outdoors, colors, feelings, toys, manners etc) I also tape them to their item (Bed flash
card to the bed, bath on the bathtub etc.) That way they can be seen or used everyday.

Box day
Lesson- Get a few different size boxes and compare.
Write big box, medium box and small box on them.
Craft- Box painting or coloring. Turn the box upside down so the
open side is on the bottom. Draw or paint on all four sides. Poke
a whole at the top. Pull a sting threw and tie a knot so the string
doesn't go threw the whole. Then hang it. If you want an easier
craft just paint or color the box it can be set on a table.
Games- Free play boxes...Kids love boxes they will have fun.

Bubble day
Lesson- Bubble coloring page with spelling. How are
bubbles made? Bubble recipe. Count all the bubbles you
blew. Try experimenting What happens when you blow
hard? What happens when you blow soft? What happens when
you blow from far away? You can also poor bubble soap in a
shallow pan and blow bubbles with a straw.
Craft- Make your own bubble wand. Bubble art, give your
child a paint brush and instead of blowing the bubbles paint
with them on the concrete.
Special Activity- Bubble bath. Have a special (long) bubble
bath time. Bring your bubble wand too. When I did this with
my son we brought all of our balls in too. I showed him the
flash cards before we got wet.
Book- Bubble trouble, Pop! A book about Bubbles, Benny's
Big Bubbles.

Baking day
Lesson- Texture. Let them feel everything, the flour, water, oil
eggs ( I know you know but I can't not write it... wash hands right
after),butter, sugar. If they are older ask them what they feel like.
Which one do they like the best? For the younger ones say
things like eggs are slimy, sugar is grainy etc. Explain what
happens when you put it in the oven. Blue berry muffins is a good
B choice. Instead of adding the blue berries in the bowl, let your
child add them to the muffins when they are allready in the pan.
Ask them to put a certain amount in each one. For younger
kids you can count them out as they help you put them in.
Game- Match that baking tool. Get everything you have two of
(they don'thave to be identical). Leave the other set put away in
the kitchen. Together chose an item to match up. Ex. We need to
have two of everything let go find the second baking sheet. Let
them look for it and bring it back to the table.
craft- Flour art. Grab some liquid glue and let your kids make a
design onpaper (card stock would be best). When they are done
sprinkle/pour flour on it. Shake excess flour off and you will have
a cool picture.

The Bakers Dozen, The Best Mouse Cookie, The Magic
School Bus Gets Baked in a Cake.

Bug day
Lesson- Talk about bugs. Get books from the library about different
bugs. Which ones fly, which ones have the most legs. You can also
just choose one bug and talk about the one. Bug coloring page with
spelling.
Craft- Bug crafts
Activity- If it is the right season you can go buy lady bugs at
Homedepot and put them in your garden. You can go outside and
